Starting your tour in Alice Springs? We will collect you from outside your Alice Springs
accommodation and head to the first stop of our day tour at Erldunda (home of the Emu) where you
can purchase breakfast.
If you’re starting your tour from Ayers Rock Resort, we collect you from your Ayers Rock Resort
accommodation.
Aboriginal Cultural Centre
Your tour then visits the Aboriginal Cultural Centre. Here, you will have time to learn about the local Pitjantjatjara people and buy souvenirs.
Built from 90,000 mud bricks, the Cultural Centre was created with the help of the local Anangu people. The sacred site it is built on has special meaning to its traditional owners.
Uluru – Mala Walk
Head to the base of the majestic Uluru (Ayers Rock). From here, your tour guide will take you on a
guided Mala Walk. Please note; tourists are no longer permitted to climb Uluru due to its cultural
significance.
The Mala Walk follows the north-west side of Uluru, where you will see many fascinating examples
of Anangu rock art. Along the way, your guide will tell ancient stories of the Anangu People.
Uluru – Mutitjulu Waterhole
We then explore the serene Mutitjulu Waterhole at Uluru. Delve into the Anangu’s age-old traditions,
view their ancient rock art, and immerse yourself in the living heritage of this storied landscape with
tales from your expert guide. This journey promises a deep cultural connection to Australia’s
indigenous roots
The Sunset BBQ
Experience an iconic Australian moment that is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Witness the
majestic Uluru sunset while savoring a glass of exquisite bubbly or a finely crafted local beer,
complemented by an Australian BBQ dinner. This unforgettable encounter promises to be an
indelible memory and a highlight of any Australian journey.
After sunset and dinner, we head to the Ayers Rock Resort to drop you off at your hotel at Ayers
Rock Resort.

After being collected from your accommodation at Ayers Rock Resort at approx 90 mins before
sunrise, you will travel in comfort to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park where you will enjoy light
refreshments while you experience an unforgettable Uluru sunrise.
Then it’s time for the scenic drive towards Kata Tjuta, with a stop at the dune viewing platform to
enjoy a panoramic view of the southern side of Kata Tjuta, and see Uluru on the distant horizon.
Experience Kata Tjuta, home to the magnificent 36 domed rock formations, and embark on the Walpa Gorge walk. Traverse the trail nestled between two of Kata Tjuta’s grandest domes and discover a verdant oasis amidst the arid landscape.
You will then be transported back to Ayers Rock Resort accommodation. Those continuing onto Alice Springs, will depart at lunch time.

What are the departure and return times?
Day 1
We depart Alice Springs at approx 6am from March to October, or at approx 7am November to February. We depart from Ayers Rock Resort at approx 11:35am from March to October, or at approx 12:35pm from November to February. You’ll return to Ayers Rock Resort after sunset, at approx 7pm from March to October, or at approx 8pm from November to February.
Day 2
We depart from Ayers Rock Resort approx 90 mins before sunrise, time will be confirmed at booking. You will return to Ayers Rock Resort at approx 10:45am from October to March and 11:30am from April to September. Those ending their tour in Alice Springs – you will depart Ayers Rock Resort at approx 12:30pm and arrive in Alice Springs at approx 7pm.
Fitness Requirements
All activities on the first day are considered very safe for all age groups, and do not require a high level
of fitness or agility. The Walpa Gorge walk at Kata Tjuta is a Grade 3 Moderate, which is suitable for
most ages and fitness levels however the track does have short steep hill sections and areas with
rough surface.

What should I bring on the tour?
We recommend you bring the following:
● Proof of booking (can include the e-version delivered to your email)
● Water bottle (at least 1 litre)
● Strong, non-slip walking shoes
● Hat (wide-brimmed is best)
● Flynet

● Camera
● Casual and comfortable clothing (cool, light clothing is best in summer and warm clothing for
winter)
● Cash for purchasing dot paintings directly from local artists at sunset when available

We have a maximum of 52 people on the tour bus. You will travel in a comfortable air-conditioned
vehicle.

How long will I be walking for?
The longest you can expect to walk on the first day is 1 hour per walk, at a relaxed pace. On the
second day the walk at Walpa Gorge is approx 1 hour.
What are the rules around alcohol at the sunset BBQ?
Each person is allowed a maximum of two alcoholic drinks. Each person will be given two vouchers.

What are the rules for BYO drinks?
At dinner, water and juice are served as well as sparkling wine. For beer or other beverages, you are welcome to bring 2-3 drinks. We recommend giving these to your guide at pick up and they will put it in the cooler box for you to enjoy with dinner.
